Welcome to Sonorous Road Theatre - the Professional Productions division of Sonorous Road Film & Theatre Studio. At Sonorous Road Theatre we aim to provide the Triangle community with a diverse and challenging experience as an independent, semi-professional theatre.

Parking

We have a small parking lot in front our our building located at 209 Oberlin Road. As an alternative, on nights and weekends, you can park directly next to Sonorous Road in the gravel lot located at 98 Ferndell Lane, Raleigh, NC 27605. This alternate lot can be accessed by leaving Sonorous Road, traveling south into the first roundabout on to Pullen Road and then taking the first immediate right onto Ferndell Lane. Once you have parked in the alternate lot you have easy walking access directly into the Sonorous Road parking lot and studio

Please note that the alternate lot is free for public use after 5pm on Weekdays and all-day on Weekends. See the map below for a diagram of the 2 parking lots.

Michelle Murray Wells: Owner and Artistic Director

Michelle is the Artistic Director and Founder of Sonorous Road Productions. She is a Raleigh, NC native and received her undergraduate degree in Theatre in 2003 from Meredith College. Michelle holds her Masters of Arts in Theatre Education from Emerson College in Boston, MA and has performed, trained, and taught in Boston, New York, and London.  She has acted in numerous local and regional theater productions including Medea, You Can’t Take it With You, All in the Timing, and Cinderella as well as starred in the short film Try Try Again which she wrote and produced. Josh Wells: Managing Director

Josh brings years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development to the organization. With degrees in Electrical Engineering he spent his early career working for the Department of Defense and then transitioned to technology sales & sales management working for a clean-tech startup in Boston and now a large tech company in Research Triangle Park, NC. Josh is a military veteran with over 15 years of service in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves including a tour of duty to Iraq in 2007. He is a passionate supporter of the arts and the benefits that arts education can provide.


Zachary Roberts: Associate Artistic Director

Zachary has directed and produced over 30 theatrical productions including Desire under the Elms, All My Sons, Eurydice, Long Day's Journey into Night, Steel Magnolias, Miss Saigon, Little Shop of Horrors, The Importance of Being Earnest, and the inaugural production at Sonorous Road - Belleville.  While living in Chicago, he worked in the casting department of the Tony Award winning Goodman Theatre.  He was also the casting director and an assistant director at the Jeff Award winning Provision Theater Company and worked as an assistant stage manager at TimeLine Theatre (2011 Wall Street Journal's Theatre Company of the Year).  Having grown up in Raleigh, he attended Campbell University and East Carolina University.  Zachary holds an M.F.A. in Directing from Western Illinois University, and he is currently the Director of Theatre at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School where he is a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction.  He is married to the beautiful Shannon Roberts, also a Raleigh native, and has two precocious children Lila and Oliver.
